THIS WEEK ON ALL 4 ADVENTURE…
Trapped for four days on the wrong side of the Drysdale, today’s the day that Jase, Simon and Jesse will attempt the crossing. The water continues to drop, so they use the boat to gauge their best course of travel. With their winch ropes already set up on the other side, it’s time to take the plunge!
It’s a sketchy crossing for the Big Rig, so they have the tow ropes ready for the lighter vehicles that they don’t want floating away. Quick thinking and confident driving gets them across, but one vehicle fares worse than the others. Check out the Clearview Episode Extra below!
So after 17 days and over 400ks, the boys have finally conquered the Carson River Track. All the effort is worth it when they reach their camp at Honeymoon Bay and feel the sand between their toes watching the sun go down.
The goal for the next day is to get Jesse a barra. So Jase navigates to one of their secret fishing spots. They all cast their lines, but it’s Simon who is on with a stonker!
They’re not the only ones out there fishing, as Jesse spots a croc slide on the bank that was made by a monster.
There’s time to swing past Don’s Camp, and check in on Codly the giant cod. Neither are to be found, but it brings back a host of memories. Check out their other visits on Unleashed.tv: The Kimberley episodes 8 & 9 and A Decade of Dirt episode 2.
They head to the rock bar for some fishing, and the water is cranking through. It’s an usual site for the dry season and a testament to the huge amount of rain that came through the area. But all the fresh water has chased away the fish, so they hope for better luck tomorrow.
Goldies, codlies and trout are on the bite the next day, and Jesse proves that he is capable of getting one in the boat. But it’s the giant black lip oysters that are on the menu for tonight.
With the road south opened back up, the boys take a quick hike to visit a beautiful waterhole on the Mitchell Plateau, Aunauyu (Surveyors Pool). Then it’s back across the Drysdale River, and this crossing is much easier than the one before. And they top up the fuel at the Drysdale Station, because it’s time to leave Western Australia behind.
