From Cape York to Sandy Cape! The boys have arrived in Tasmania, and they are making their way down the west coast to the lighthouse at Sandy Cape. This coastline has seen numerous tragedies over the years. Is that a bad sign of what’s to come?
There’s new scenery and new weather conditions to challenge them every step of the way. With log-filled beaches, sinking quicksand and freezing cold water crossings, they’re starting to wonder whose idea it was to go down in the middle of winter! Jase cooks up a Bush Meatloaf that would give any American sitcom mum a run for her money.
These crossings require some timing with the surge to avoid the waves and most are conquered with a ‘booyah’ and a grin. But a surprisingly deep dip further along gives Kiel a sinking feeling. Jase and Simon are quick to respond, but will it put an end to their lighthouse trek?
They set their sights on the two highest dunes they can see and set up their first proper beach camp on the Tasmanian leg of the trip. Those buggies didn’t get hauled all this way for nothing, so the boys suit up for a hoon on the dunes to top of their day.
