THIS WEEK ON ALL 4 ADVENTURE…
Jase has a new mission for the boys. They’re on the hunt for an A-20 Havoc that had a controlled crash landing on an island in the Coral Sea. This twin-engine transport aeroplane ran into some bad weather and ran out of fuel causing it to go down. The crew survived and was rescued by a passing freighter two days later, but the plane remained. So they’re off to see if they can find what’s left of it 78 years later.
To get there, they must travel through some back country that is wetter than any of them have ever seen it. Lakes sit where it’s normally dry land. So there are some water crossings to walk with caution in croc country. Then it’s into the dunes where momentum is your friend. Washed out hill climbs mean acrobatic wheel spins as they tip and turn their way to the top.
With the Boss Air tyre deflators on, they take in the view of the glassy ocean and start dreaming of what they’ll be catching for their supper. A drive across the pristine beach brings them to the perfect spot for a camp next to a freshwater spring.
The next morning they put the tinny in to make way for the planewreck island. Will anything be left of the aircraft after all these years? After the hunt for Steak & Eggs, it’s time for some fish with trevs, nannys, and cod on the bite. They’ll top off the day with Jase’s Dessert of Dreams back at camp.
It was all fun and games coming down the dunes to the beach, but they’re still in for a challenge to make their way back out. How many goes will it take them?
