THIS WEEK ON ALL 4 ADVENTURE…

The quest for the golden barra continues as Jase, Simon and Kiel keep forging west to the Gulf. But from first light to sunset, it’s a challenge to get through the boggy country. They’ll have to use all the tools in their arsenal to make it. The Maxtrax for traction, the Boss Ring to get the best winch angles, and having a Swampy nearby certainly helps when you need a mobile winch point.

After getting as far as they can in the trucks, they use Swampy and the buggy to make their way to the fresh water. It is a hard slog, but just one decent fish would be a reward making it worthwhile. Kiel hooks up first, but it’s Simon who almost ends up in the water. Who will get a stonker in time for supper back at camp?

The next morning, the crew head off again in the trucks. They are determined to reach the coast, but a winding creek means there are more crossings ahead. The area is a feral pig playground, and the melon holes they leave behind make for a bumpy ride that hooks up the trailers.

The ups and downs of their drive are in stark contrast to the glass-out they find when they hit the coast. They make their way along the beach to a barra camp along the river. The locals give them a tour of some of the interesting relics that make up their camp including an old WWII ammunition carrier.

With time to get in a quick flick before dark, they find the fish are going off. Jase reels in a big barra, but Simon’s wiggly fish shakes a lure right into his arm. It’s a question of the easy way or the hard way to get that one out, and ‘the hard way’, it is. Boo-yah!

A coffee and a piece of Jase’s tasty Apple & Peanut Butter Damper will help take Simon’s mind off the pain.

In the morning, they head for the freshwater reaches of the river where there are saratoga, croc slides and barramundi. It’s hook ups all around, and Kiel gets PB after PB. Jase lands a giant himself. There are smiles on everyone’s dials, but will they still be smiling on the drive back out through the swamp country?
