THIS WEEK ON ALL 4 ADVENTURE…

After successfully completing their mission to Horn Island, Jase, Simon and Kiel head South again via the Old Telegraph Line. Most people drive it south to north, so they’ll have to wait and see what obstacles lie ahead. But with it being Kiel’s first time in the area, they have to give it ago.

The Straddle Club navigate their way through with the added challenge of towing their gear through the washed out areas. A tough spot with the trailer shows exactly why Jase always runs mud tyres on their trailers.

As they come to Nolans Crossing, they start to realise why this is not the normal travelling direction. Coming from the other way, you go in steep and pop up the other side. But from the north it gets deeper and deeper before having to climb back out just when momentum starts to wane. After walking it and picking a line, Jase gives it the gas. But will he regret being the guinea pig?

After a near-drowning of Blackout, Simon has his own troubles as he deals with gnarly dips and tips and a full-tilt crossing that nearly took out the caravan. Thankfully they’ve got the tools to deal with the aftermath before helping out another stuck traveller. Goes to show, it’s not just about driving — need to pay attention and think and plan. But Kiel learns from Simon’s mistakes, and they move on to more holes and mud pits.

After a day of wet water winchings, it’s time for a cook up. Jase cooks up a mouth-watering Chicken Fried Rice… a filling feed after a big day!

There’s one last stop planned along this path. Jase hasn’t been here since Series 2, but Fruitbat Falls is the perfect spot for a dip for these dusty drivers!
