THIS WEEK ON ALL 4 ADVENTURE…
The boys leave the ranger group at main camp and head out to the tip of the island to document a remote art site for the university. But that’s not all they find. They also come across the remains of a steel shipwreck, and Jesse keeps his eyes out for crocs. They can’t resist a chance to fish, and mackerel are on the bite.
Jase shares the story of the Patricia Cam, a Australian minesweeper ship which was sunk in 1943 by a Japanese sea plane. Though the ship and graves of the men on board have been lost, the boys find a plaque laid by an archaeology team. We also hear the story of when the term “Australian” was first used by Matthew Flinders to describe the Yolungu men, and the boys have a look at the ancient fish traps built in this area.
With a stop back at camp, can Jase change Jesse’s mind about mushrooms with his Mushroom Surprise? (Surprise! There’s mushrooms in it, Jesse!)
Out on the water, the boys fight the ebb tide at “the hole in the wall” between the islands. And then they make their way down to the Dhippiri Lodge where it is too rough to anchor, but the night landing causes trouble as the boys have to navigate around sharp rocks to get to the boat ramp. In the morning, Darren gives the boys some advice on where to head out for some good fishing. Will this be their chance to get that huge barra of their dreams?
