Simon tracks Jase down on the historic Gulflander train, and once they get back to the 4WDs, it’s time to head towards Burketown. They don’t make it that far before sundown, so they set up camp by the side of the road.
Soon enough they hit the boat ramp at the Albert River. It’s time to put that new boat in the water and see what she can do.
A quick ride over the open water, and they’re on track for Sweers Island, part of the South Wellesley Islands of the Gulf. They meet up with island caretaker Tex, who gives them a warm welcome.
The next morning, the boys are up with the gulls and strike it rich in a goldmine of goldies. Those fish make good eatin’, so they head back to Tex’s canteen for a fry-up.
There’s still time to fish before sundown, and this time Simon’s playing tug-o-war with a giant cod.
