In this episode, Jase and Simon leave the big boat at Laura and set off for Aurukun. It isn’t long before a small mistake means it’s time to get out the recovery gear.
The next morning they take the tinnies for a run up the Coleman River. Barramundi is the goal as they try their luck in the brackish water where the river meets the Arafura Sea. The fish are eager, and Simon even manages to catch one with his eyes closed.
Back in the trucks, the guys start out towards the Holroyd River but stop to set up camp before another serious crossing. The next morning that crossing proves to be a bit of a challenge for the trailer.
A few more ruts and bogs along the way, but eventually they make their way to their beachside campsite just south of the Holroyd River. A big day on the road means big appetites, so Jase cooks up a flamin’ hot pork roast in the camp oven.
The next morning Jase is up early and can’t resist tossing in a line. He is treated to a couple of beautiful barra to start the day.
Once Simon is up and at it, they pack up camp to finish their fishin’ mission on the Holroyd where there are plenty of fish and something much bigger.
